Redrawing the map for 1 October 1949
Getting province borders, country colors, and starting deployments to actually look like the first day of the Cold War.

The province map has to do two things at once: read correctly as geography and read correctly as politics. Borders need to trace real administrative boundaries closely enough that a Korea or a Germany looks unmistakably right, while country colors need enough contrast that a glance at the map tells you where every bloc stands without having to click anything.
The trickiest part so far has been the handful of places where 1949's borders don't match anything drawn today — occupation zones, contested frontiers, colonial holdings that don't correspond to a modern country at all. Each of those needed its own hand-checked shape rather than anything we could pull from an existing map source.
Next up: getting the starting military deployment to look as tense as it should on day one, so a Korea or a divided Germany opens already dug in along the lines history actually drew.
